Toyota Camry 2018 in the UAE: should you buy?
We pulled 142 active listings, the recall record, and what UAE owners actually paid for service. Here's the verdict — and three checks that will save you AED 5,000.
Why people keep buying it
The eighth-generation Camry — Toyota's global 2017 launch, in GCC showrooms from 2018 — is the best-selling mid-size sedan in the UAE for the same reason it has been for fifteen years. It does the job. The 2.5-litre four makes 203 horsepower, the eight-speed automatic shrugs at 45-degree summers, and the parts shelf at any independent garage in Al Quoz is full.
The catch: a generation that's been on the road for six years has accumulated mileage. The median 2018 Camry on sale today has 92,000 km on it. That's not a problem on its own — but it does mean you're past warranty and into territory where one or two well-known issues start showing.
The market in numbers
Asking prices range from AED 38,000 (high mileage, salvage history) to AED 78,000 (low km dealer specials). The fairly-priced band — where most clean cars live — is AED 50,000—62,000.

Three things to check before you call
- 01The brake actuator recallNHTSA recall 19V-571 affected ~70,000 Camrys including some GCC units. Free fix at any Toyota service centre — but not all owners have done it. Ask for the completion record.
- 02The AC condenserUAE dust + 45°C summers corrode the front condenser around 100,000 km. If past that, ask if the AC has been re-gassed — if yes, dig deeper before paying full price.
- 03Service history at Toyota or a credible independentA Camry serviced at Al-Futtaim or a known Sharjah independent is a different car from one with no records. No file? Offer 10% less.
